One of my favorite pictures of all time, and I’m not really one for coupley photos.
Q:Hi! There's this guy I like in my class, I am really bad at flirting. My friend has been teaching me how to flirt. After class today me and my friend we were walking behind him. So my friend tells me to trip him, so I do that and I almost made him fall. Afterwards we were laughing about it and I apologized because I felt bad for actually making him almost fall. He said he would have punched me if I was a guy. Do you think that he is mad at me? Can you give any advice about this situation?

Hey there! It’s hard to say if/how mad the guy would be, because you did, afterall, trip him. However, your friend telling you to trip the guy as a gesture of flirting is not the best approach. Flirting is a game - and it should be a safe one! Small steps are important, focus on the details. Go up and have a nice conversation with him, and you can make subtle gestures like putting your hand on his arm when it seems applicable, smiling, and being genuinely friendly. Tease him a little (nicely!) if you think that might get him laughing. But in no way should you act disruptively to get his attention - he could have actually gotten hurt from your tripping him!
